This small point-of-use water heater has worked very well under the sink. The compact size makes it easy to fit into a limited space, and the simple temperature control is straightforward to use.It heats the water quickly and provides hot water almost immediately at the faucet, which is much more convenient than waiting for water to travel from the main heater. The 1.5-gallon capacity is enough for hand washing, rinsing, and other short tasks around the sink. The heater feels solid, runs quietly, and has maintained a consistent temperature so far. Installation was manageable, and the included pressure relief valve was already positioned conveniently on top.Overall, this has been a very useful addition for a sink located farther from the main water heater. It delivers hot water quickly, takes up very little space, and has worked reliably since installation.
This is a really practical option for a sink that is too far from the main water heater or anywhere you want hot water available without waiting forever for it to travel through the plumbing. The compact tank size makes it especially useful for under-sink installation where space is limited.I like that it is a self-contained unit rather than something that requires a major plumbing overhaul. For a bathroom sink, utility area, workshop, or similar setup, having a small amount of hot water ready right at the point of use can make a noticeable difference. It also helps avoid running the faucet for a long time just waiting for the water to warm up.The 1.5-gallon capacity is obviously meant for smaller tasks rather than supplying an entire household, so expectations matter here. It is best suited for handwashing, rinsing, and other short uses where you just need hot water quickly. The unit has a clean, compact design and feels like a much more convenient solution than dealing with long hot-water lines for a single sink. For the right application, it is a useful little appliance and a good way to add point-of-use hot water without taking up a lot of room.
Installation & Design:I ordered this 1.5-gallon electric mini-tank water heater for my kitchen sink. I measured the space beforehand, and the size is absolutely perfect—it can easily fit under almost any sink.Unfortunately, my kitchen plumbing is quite old with permanent, rigid connections. To install this unit, I would have to do a major plumbing overhaul or completely replace my sink, which wasn't my original plan since I was looking for a simple setup.Product Inspection:The unit looks great, and the instructions are very clear. Installation seems like it would be incredibly easy if you have standard, modern flexible hoses and connections ready. During my inspection, I did notice a small detail near the safety valve connection: there was a tiny bit of rust-like residue or moisture. I assume this is common from factory quality-control testing before packaging, but it is something to note when opening a brand-new item.Functionality & Performance:I was unable to turn the unit on to test how fast it heats up. The manual gives a very strict warning not to turn it on dry (without water), as it will instantly burn out the heating element. Since I didn't have the necessary hoses to fill and bleed the tank safely outside of my sink setup, I didn't want to risk damaging the appliance or causing an accident.Recommended Use & Value:The price is very reasonable for what it offers. It is a fantastic option to save on gas bills, which have been very high lately. Keep in mind that with a 1.5-gallon capacity, it is meant for low-demand use, such as washing dishes, hands, or your face. It will not replace a whole-house water heater, but it is an excellent choice for minor use, camping trips, or an RV, provided you have an electrical hookup. It delivers exactly the capacity advertised.
A tiny tank heater makes a lot of sense under a sink that's far away from the main water heater and takes forever to get hot. At 1.5 gallons this isn't intended to provide a shower or endless hot water, but it's plenty for hand washing and short sink use. The small tank also reheats much faster than a normal household heater. I especially like point-of-use tanks in workshops and basement sinks where running a dedicated hot water line would be more trouble than the heater itself.
This is very easy to install and use. It was very easy to install in our work room, which also has a sink, hot tub. I found that putting bowls of water from it into the steam room container & hot tub greatly reduce the wait time on them getting up to temp too! (Though it's too small to really feel a hot tub up with one- it works with dishes well though.Installation was easy though we did need some connectors that were easy enough to find at the local hardware store. They give you a little bit of tape that comes with it but it wasn't nearly enough, and so we bought some of that too.I think this would be great for RVs. I have a propane one for my outdoor kitchen, and I really like this one better. It's just easier to install and use. It's quiet. It puts out Hot water that is hot enough to cut grease off dishes!
We bought this to replace the gas water heater in our RV, and with a little finagling during installation, we got it working very well. The compact size makes it a good fit for RV use, and once installed it provides reliable hot water without relying on propane. Being able to run it from shore power or generator power gives us more flexibility depending on how and where we're camping. It's smaller than our gas unit, but heats quickly and efficiently, and does the job for what we need.Build quality feels solid, the unit looks well made, and the controls are straightforward once everything is connected properly. Its versatility is one of the biggest advantages. It works well as a point-of-use heater in an RV, tiny home, shop, bathroom, or anywhere a full-size water heater would be overkill. For the size, performance, and convenience, this is a very good value for the money.
This compact heater fits neatly under my sink and provides hot water much faster than waiting for it to travel from the main heater. The 1.5gallon tank is plenty for handwashing and other short tasks, but it is not intended for long, continuous use. Water heats quickly and stays at a consistent temperature between uses. The unit feels well made, and the leak detection feature provides some additional peace of mind. Installation was straightforward with the correct plumbing connections and a nearby suitable electrical outlet. Overall, it’s a convenient point to use solution that reduces both waiting time and wasted water.
This Electrolux water heater is a nice option for a small space or a single sink where only a limited amount of hot water is needed. The compact design allows it to be mounted on either the wall or floor, making it convenient for areas with little extra room. My only concern is that the four-gallon capacity is a little small and may not be enough when you need hot water for several tasks close together. Overall, it appears to be a well-designed unit, but a larger capacity would make it more practical.
This small water heater is a great option when you need hot water without taking up a ton of space. The 4 gallon size is compact enough to fit under a sink while still providing a useful amount of hot water. The installation was fairly straightforward, and I like that it can be mounted on the wall or floor depending on the available space. The electric operation is also convenient since there’s no need for a larger heating system just for one area. The unit feels well made and heats the water quickly. It’s especially useful for a bathroom, utility sink, or other spot where you don’t need a large tank. Overall, it’s a convenient compact water heater with a good balance of size and performance.
Item: Electrolux 1.5 Gallon Electric Tank Water HeaterReview: This is a well made point of use electric water heater. We have a rancher, and our water heater is on the complete opposite side/corner from the bathrooms (probably a good 55' away). For a shower, you're waiting a good 20-30 seconds for hot water. For hand washing, make that about a minute. Having this for instantaneous hot water is fantastic! Being that it's connected to the hot water line, it basically just maintains the heat from the hot water heater water assuming you ran it long enough. So there's really no noticeable difference in electric use. It isn't necessarily cheap, but boy is it nice to have! Easy to install, good quality, and lovely hot water!
This 1.5-gallon Electrolux heater makes the most sense for places where you only need a small amount of hot water and don’t want to wait for it to travel from the main water heater. Under a sink in a workshop, office, garage, or utility area is where I see this being especially useful. The compact tank size is a good fit for point-of-use installation because it doesn’t take up a huge amount of cabinet space. It’s not meant to replace a full household water heater, but for hand washing, rinsing, or other light sink use, the smaller capacity is much more practical.I also like that it’s CSA certified, since electrical and plumbing equipment is something I’d rather not gamble on with a completely unknown design. Installation still needs to be done correctly, especially with the electrical connection and pressure side of the plumbing. The main limitation is simply the 1.5-gallon capacity. If you need continuous hot water or plan to use a lot at once, this is too small. For short, frequent uses at one sink, though, that’s exactly the kind of job it’s designed for.Overall, it’s a convenient little point-of-use heater for adding hot water to a location where running a new hot-water line would be inconvenient.
So I ordered this because the water in my kitchen takes forever to heat up when I do the dishes. My water comes from a well and the inlet to the house is almost at the opposite end of the house from my kitchen. So I thought this might help with getting hot water more quickly to kitchen. And it has helped a LOT. This tank heats up quickly and gets nice and hot. I feel now I’m a bit spoiled by it - I wish it was larger than 1 1/2 gallons. But it heats up quickly enough that I really don’t have to wait that long for it to refill and heat up. I honestly wish I had gotten one of these long ago but I never even knew they were a thing.
The Electrolux 1.5-gallon point-of-use water heater solves a very specific problem: waiting for hot water to travel through a long plumbing run. Installed close to the fixture, the small tank keeps a limited supply of hot water immediately available for handwashing and other short-duration sink tasks. The compact 1.5-gallon capacity makes it appropriate for under-sink installations where space is limited. It can be especially useful in workshops, offices, utility sinks, garages, guest areas, or homes where a particular fixture sits a considerable distance from the main water heater. The important thing is understanding capacity. This isn't intended to replace a whole-house heater or supply long showers. Its advantage is rapid access to a relatively small quantity of hot water. Once that stored water is depleted, recovery becomes part of the equation.CSA certification is reassuring for an appliance combining electricity, water, and heat, although installation still needs to follow the manufacturer's electrical and plumbing requirements and applicable codes. For the right application, point-of-use heating can improve convenience while reducing the amount of water wasted waiting for the main hot-water supply to arrive.Pros• Provides hot water close to the point of use• Compact 1.5-gallon design fits smaller spaces• Can reduce water wasted while waiting for hot water• Useful for remote sinks, garages and offices• CSA-certified applianceCons• Small tank has limited continuous capacity• Requires proper plumbing and electrical installation• Not intended as a whole-home water heaterOverallA specialized appliance that can make a noticeable difference at sinks located far from the main water heater. As long as buyers understand the limited capacity, it's a practical solution to an everyday inconvenience.
This Electrolux tank water heater is a great solution for small spaces needing instant hot water. It's surprisingly powerful for its size and the CSA certification offers peace of mind. Installation was straightforward, making it a simple upgrade for my under-sink setup.
I got this little water heater bc I was tired of waiting forever for hot water to reach one of our sinks! The tank is small enough to fit underneath without getting in the way of everything else. Once it was hooked up the water heated pretty quickly. The controls are simple and the unit itself feels well made. The small tank obviously runs out if I keep the water going too long. For washing hands and quick cleanups it has been plenty for what I needed. Quality feels good and having hot water right there is really convenient!
easy install if you're familiar with the electricals
My kitchen sink is less than 20 feet from the water heater, but I have plastic pipes and it seems to take forever to get hot water. I found this Electorlux under-counter water heater and decided to give it a try. It's made like a full-sized water heater complete with an overflow valve. It was very easy to install. I only needed a few extra parts for the job. My faucet connects to the water line with a 3/8 inch compression fitting, so I bought a 1/2 inch to 3/8 adapter so that it would screw on the outlet of this tank. I bought a 3/8 to 1/2 flexible hose to connect the tank's inlet to my water supply in place of the faucet. The tank's overflow valve comes with a flexible hose that can be tied into the drain. I have an existing line for the dishwasher, so I added a Y adapter to accommodate that. I have an existing electrical outlet under the sink for my disposal, so after connecting the screw-on water lines, I plugged it in and it was ready to go.The tank heats very quickly. Since it's fed from my hot water line, it doesn't run much - just enough to maintain hot water in the tank. It provides hot water almost instantly. it basically takes one second to clear the cold water out of the line between the tank and faucet and then it's all hot from there. The temperature adjustment is easy to use and it will get very hot. I have it set at about 55% of full temperature. My only minor complaint is that the included rubber feet just sit loosely on the bottom, so they can fall off when sliding it into the cabinet. Of course even filled, the tank is light enough to lift and place the feet back on. It would have been better if they held more securely. Other than that very minor issue, this water heater is well made and was easy to install. I highly recommend it.
As above. I like this item, that is if you keep your expectations modest. Here is why:The installation is straight forward. It requires running input and output hoses into the tankless heater that then feed into your hot water output. Wiring it obviously is a challenge as it's especially rare to have a 240 hard-wire option under your kitchen sink. I don't, so in order to test this, I had to run a water line from a hose and hook this up via my dryer plug. After fashioning a 240-volt male plug, it's off to the races. Here is what to consider. There is no question. If you are interested in this, you MUST BUY the HIGHEST GPM OPTION that you have enough amperage to power. Yes, this can and does heat water. However, it just doesn't produce enough IMHO for a hot water shower, especially if the INPUT TEMPERATURE IS LOW. This is a fundamental flaw with all tankless water heaters. It's just a matter of physics. All other functions can be controlled by WIFI and an app. It's super straightforward and can be used as a smart device.Beyond that, I highly recommend this brand. All the products I have had from them have been especially high quality and well-made. I do view this as a very good investment for the $. It's silent (obviously), and affords some benefit over a standing water heater in both terms of space consumption and potentially power usage. This is especially true if you live in the SOUTH were it's always hot and the water is already warm. The slow heat dissipation from a conventional water heater is eliminated. In short. This is a HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT. It is, however, NOT a good idea for MOST homes. If you do go this path, please be sure to buy the HIGHEST GPM OPTION, and be sure that you have the VOLTAGE and AMPERAGE to power it.Recommended!!
My boyfriend got a tankless hot water heater for his whole house. I was an instant fan of the instant hot water. Quite literally instant. I don't need a new whole house water heater anytime soon, but because the distance between my water heater and my kitchen sink, it takes forever for the gas heater to heat up to get hot water. My experience with his hot water heater made me want to take the plunge. I fortunately have a 240 v outlet in my basement not crazy far underneath where my kitchen sink is. So although I paid a guy to drill the hole through the cabinet and the floor, run the power, and install the whole thing properly, I didn't have to spend nearly as much money getting a whole new outlet installed. Once he installed it, whooo boy, it nice having that instant hot water. It lasts plenty long for me to do my dishes. It doesn't last crazy long, but I don't need it to. (I have a dishwasher and use that as much as possible) Like every other product in the world these days, it has an app, which works fine, but now that I have set it, I don't see a need to have to use it anytime soon. I as far as money,, it's a pretty big upfront cost, but the gas savings over time using this instead of my main water heater will add up. The water heater itself feels a little bit pricey for what it is, but that doesn't surprise me given the historical quality of the Electrolux brand.
Electrolux has been around for a little over a century. This longevity in design and manufacturing doesn't come easy and Electrolux has proven that over the years. Being Electrolux, this mini hot water heater is CSA certified point of use being underneath a sink. I got this with the intention of placing it under our kitchen sink. The home boss (not me!) wanted to maintain her current space for supplies, plus we have a reverse osmosis system under there as well. She wanted it the laundry room anyhow, so that's where I installed. The extra room under the laundry room sink made it easy to hook everything up. Note: There are no hoses included with this heater. I simply utilized the original cold and hot water flex hoses, but had to add an isolation valve on the cold water inlet. This allows for turning off the supply water (cold) to the water heater in case of maintenance, or a need to remove the unit without shutting off the water in your entire home. Electrolux does include a pressure relief valve that easily screws into the top of the heater. Be sure to do this before you slide the heater under the sink. Aside from that, it was an easy install that took less than a half-hour. So how does it work? Perfectly, no surprise from Electrolux. I purged the vessel before plugging it in to prevent possible damage from surges inside the heater tubes. The cord that Electrolux provides is quite long, (36") but it wrapped up nicely, and I applied a wire tie to keep things neat. Once plugged in, I set the dial to a twelve o'clock position and it immediately fired up. There are no fancy digital lights or any lighting at all on the temperature adjustment; it is completely analogue. That's a plus for me, it is something that is less likely to break. There are some 1.5 gallon electric water heaters out there that are less money, but they don't come with a name brand like Electrolux that is backed up with years and years of quality manufacturing. I can recommend this.
